Confirmation Ceremony

(The Candidate, clothed in a white robe, is standing at the Font. The Priest invites the Candidate to advance to the Altar of Incense.)

The PRIEST: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. [Name], is it your will to be confirmed a member of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica?

CANDIDATE: It is.

P.: What witness do you choose to stand with you on this occasion?

C.: (Names witness, who must already be confirmed in E.G.C. The Witness steps forward, to C's side.)

P.: Under what name do you approach confirmation?

C.: (Gives confirmation name.)

P.: What is your Creed?

C.: (Recites the Creed from memory.)

P.: (Annoints C's forehead with Oil of Abramelin.) "I am uplifted in thine heart; and the kisses of the stars rain hard upon thy body."

[Confirmation Name], I annoint you as a servant of Ra Hoor Khuit.

"Fear not at all; fear neither men nor Fates, nor gods, nor anything. Money fear not, nor laughter of the folk folly, nor any other power in heaven or upon the earth or under the earth. Nu is your refuge as Hadit your light; and I am the strength, force, vigour, of your arms."

(P gives admonitory blow across side of head)

This blow represents the reality of the Law of Thelema which you serve. "Ra-Hoor-Khu is with thee."
